Christ Through Us - The people of WELS are celebrating our 175th Anniversary! NPH announced last year that they were developing a pictoral history book and allowed people to pre-order. For those who ordered a copy last fall, our copies have arrived. Make sure that you have paid and then pick up your copy at church.

Thank You - to everyone who participated in this year's Arbor Day. Be sure to check out the two trees donated by the Sunday School to be planted. One is at the edge of the white fence east of the main parking lot. The other is between the gravel lot and the FMC.

Time and Talents Survey - All members are invited to evaluate how they might use their God-given talents to help serve the Lord at Salem. Please take a few minutes to complete this online survey. The information gathered will be used when committees are looking for volunteers, help is needed by members, or various projects come up at church. Printed surveys will also be available at church. Please contact Chris Eubank, Discipleship Elder, with any questions.

Summer Schedule - There will be no Adult Bible Study on Memorial Day Weekend, 5/25. Starting June 1, we'll have 20-Minute Bible Studies on "Terms of the Bible." They will be at the church from 9:10 to 9:30 like last year. Sessions will run through August 23. Sunday School will resume September 7.

Killarney Memorial Day Weekend Chicken BBQ: Sunday, May 25, 2025 - Serving from 12:00 Noon - 3:00 pm under the Pavilion. It is hosted by Grace Lutheran Church, Tecumseh. Half chicken dinners will be $11, and quarter chicken dinners will be $9. Hot dog plates are $4. Free-will offerings above those prices will go to fund campground projects.

2025 Dexter Ann Arbor Run is Sunday, June 1st. This might affect your drive to church that morning, especially if you drive through Dexter past the A&W. Check the website dxa2.com/dexter-ann-arbor-course-maps/ to see if your drive will be affected.

Honoring Our 2025 GraduatesSunday, June 1, we will honor our high school/college/trades graduates of Salem and Friends of Salem with their names and information in the bulletin. Please send information to Donna at secretary@salem-annarbor.org as soon as possible. Please include graduate’s first and last name, their parents’ names, name of school from which they are graduating, and (for college/trade school graduates) degree or course of study.

A Congregational Meeting Is Scheduled for Sunday, June 1st. A packet with the 2025-2026 Budget as approved by the Coordinating Council, will be available on Sunday, May 25th, so members can review it before the June 1st Meeting. We'll have a congregational meeting after worship in the church on June 1, starting about 11:30am. This meeting is open to all members. It's an opportunity to share input and ideas. When that meeting is done, we'll have a short break, followed by our Voter Meeting in the church as well. A budget will be proposed, in addition to some other items. This meeting is for voting members of Salem. Watch for a full agenda to be released soon.

HCA Graduation - June 1 (2pm) - Hope Christian Academy has 13 seniors graduating this year. Benny Lemke will serve as our valedictorian, and Bobby Wilson will serve as our salutatorian. Pastor Jon Baumann will serve as the preacher

SWM Summer Send-Off Potluck and Collection Drive - Join us for the SWM Potluck and Collection Drive on Thursday, June 12 at 6:00 PM at the home of Ann White. All ladies and teen girls of the congregation are invited for an evening of food, fellowship, and giving.
This year, SWM is collecting donations for the Redford Pregnancy Care Center. Shopping in-store can help you snag great deal - especially on bigger items like diapers and formula. Please ensure items arrive by June 12.

A sign-up sheet and printed wish lists will be available in the Fellowship Wing starting Sunday, May 11. If you’re able, please bring an appetizer, salad, or dessert to share. Donated items can be brought directly to the potluck. Come enjoy a meaningful evening of connection, fellowship, and support for a wonderful cause

July 2025 - June 2026 Ushers - If you would like to join our current list of ushers and are a confirmed male or female member of Salem, please contact Bob Schneider at 734-426-4593. If you are already on the usher list, you do not need to reapply. The new schedule will start July 6, 2025.

Join The Camp Killarney Boosters - 2025 Membership Applications are In the Attachments at the end of TWAS and on the table in the Fellowship Wing as well as clicking here. Applications and checks, made payable to Camp Killarney, should be given to Dan Olson. Killarney Lutheran Camp is an outdoor recreational ministry operated by an association of WELS congregations. Save the Date: 2026 Women in the Word - Ladies of Salem, mark your calendars! Due to the overwhelmingly positive feedback from this year’s event, we are thrilled to announce that Women in the Word is happening again! Join us on Saturday, February 7, 2026, from 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM at the FMC for another incredible day of connection, encouragement, and growing together in God’s Word. This special day is a chance for the women of Salem to pause from the busyness of life, deepen their faith, and build lasting friendships that strengthen our church family. We are truly grateful for everyone who joined us earlier this year and look forward to coming together again for another inspiring and faith-filled day.   • Offering checks can be mailed to Salem Ev. Lutheran Church at 7411 Scio Church Rd, Ann Arbor, MI 48103. Please do not send cash in the mail.
  • If you would prefer to give online, go to salem-annarbor.org/page/give . There you will find instructions to give through PayPal. Please note that there is a small processing fee charged to the church. If you give online, please indicate your envelope number in the notes, if you know it.
  • Offering drop off - We have installed a box for offerings on the backside of the church next to the door into the mother's room. Please do not leave anything in the parsonage mailbox.
